Edition no. 4 finally parting with Alpine, and seeing retro looks

Back in the hairy 80s and early 90s, before any generic car audiophile was having their interior lit up by jumping dolphins, Blaupunkt really offered quite a few VAGs with their range of high quality stereo players. One of such I remember quite well was featured in my father’s Audi 100, the Heidelberg SQR 45, added with the 10 CD-changer in the boot.

If you still prefer the rather conservative, German design, you’re lucky – Blaupunkt has now returned with the retro design in a 1:1 match in their Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB.

Looking exactly like the old FM/cassette counterpart, albeit with modern features under the “cassette lid”, the Bremen DAB now comes with bluetooth, handsfree mic and DAB antenna.

The display has a full RGB adjustable illumination, to match whatever old car you may have. And if you’re like me, you’ll even familiarize with the rubberized main button too. Prices yes, but car stereo has never looked so good for an urquattro.
