Audi 200, Audi 100 turbo & Audi 200 rallye
Audi 200 was the predecessor to the s-range that was to come, built on the Audi 100 chassis. With
typ 43 the Audi 200 was introduced, with the option of a 5E or the first turbocharged inline-five 5T,
equipped with a Borg-Wagner KKK turbo which delivered 170hp. These two engines was also
optional after the introduction in 1983 of the next generation chassis, typ 44.
Audi 200 20VIt was not until 1985 that Audi combined quattro with the turbocharged engine. At the same time the
5E was no longer an option, but also the avant-version was introduced. The 200 had multiple
combinations of 10 valved turboengines, and with the 1990/91 model there was also offered the 20V
version taken from the urquattro and first generation S2, sporting 220hp.Compared with the 100 the 200 has larger bumpers with turnsignals, which allowed single-piece
headlamps. With the 20V the model even got round flares at the back, that was also featured on
the special edition 200 Exklusive - which offered the 1B 200hp or the 2B 190hp engine.
Audi 100 Sport ExklusiveAudi 100 turbo quattro was a more expensive version of the 100, which made it into a in-between model

fender-flares taken from the 20V, and features the 'MC' engine and quattro drivetrain.Available engines:

Audi 200 rallye
As Group B was cancelled during the 1986 season, FIA decided Group A should be the only WRC for
the 1987 season. This category should feature less powerful cars, based more on seriesproductioned
models. Homologation-standards were set at atleast 5000 produced examples ahead of the 1987 season. At Audi they worked at which model could suit this task better, and surpricingly it turned out to be the
Audi 200 quattro, and a rally edition was assembled for the Rally Monte Carlo. With Walther Röhrl
behind the wheel, the big Audi came in third overall, mostly thanks to his good rally-experience.Next duty was the Kenyan Safari rally, with start and goal at Nairobi. In this race Audi also let
Hannu Mikkola & Arne Hertz drive alongside Walther Röhrl & Christian Geistdörfer. The result was first
and second place, in that order, in this endurance-rally.Audi withdrew from rally after that event.
